9 di Dante Inferno Rosso Vermouth 750ml

Rarely does a vermouth demand as much attention for its base wine as it does for its botanicals. But then again, 9 di Dante isn’t interested in the status quo. While most Rosso vermouths rely on neutral white wine and a heavy hand of caramel for color, founder Alex Ouziel and legendary blender Mario Baralis (a man who spent decades guarding the secret recipes at Carpano) have gone back to the roots of Piedmont.

This is a Vermouth di Torino Superiore with a backbone. It’s built on a 50/50 blend of Dolcetto and Cortese grapes. The Dolcetto lends a deep ruby hue and a tannic structure you simply don’t find in commercial bottlings, while the Cortese provides the bright acidity needed to keep the sugar in check.
