The Ribbon Ridge AVA is a tiny, geologic island of marine sedimentary soil that consistently produces some of the most soulful, transparent Pinot Noir in Oregon. At the heart of it all is Ayres. Brad and Charity McLeroy use only 100% estate grown fruit farmed through sustainable growing practices, though they often choose to focus on the health of the ecosystem rather than pursuing expensive certifications.

The 2023 “Perspective” is a stunning example of why we champion this producer. While many Willamette Valley Pinots are pivoting toward a more extracted, big style, Ayres remains committed to finesse, tension, and soil-driven character.
