While Franciacorta often gets the “Italian Champagne” label, the truth is that Bellavista has spent the last 40 years carving out a space that is entirely its own. Based in the rolling, glacial hills of Erbusco, this is a house that values precision and a certain cinematic elegance.

The 2020 Rosé is essentially the liquid equivalent of a high-summer sunset over Lake Iseo. It’s a blend of roughly 62% Chardonnay and 38% Pinot Nero, with a portion of the base wines seeing time in small oak barrels to round out the edges. But don’t think oaky—think structure.

It’s an Extra Brut (though labeled Brut) that leans into the serious, savory side of Pinot Noir and has enough backbone to stand up to a piece of fatty salmon or a plate of salty salumi, but enough grace to be the first thing you open when friends drop by on a Saturday afternoon.
