Cardamaro Vino Amaro Lt
$24.50
This isn’t your typical root-and-bark liqueur; it’s a wine-based aperitivo from Canelli, Italy, that has been produced by the Toso family for generations. Cardamaro starts with a base of Piedmontese Moscato wine. This gives it a lighter body, a delicate vinous texture, and a lower ABV (typically around 17%), making it dangerously easy to sip.
The name can be a bit of a “gotcha”—while it sounds like cardamom, the primary botanical here is actually Nizza Monferrato Cardoon (a relative of the artichoke).
