Chateau Panchille Bordeaux 2018

Situated on the banks of the Dordogne, directly across from Saint-Émilion and Pomerol, Château Panchille is a model of consistent quality in the Bordeaux Supérieur AOC. The estate is managed by Pascal Sirat, who farms 11 hectares of vines—averaging 45 years of age—rooted in silty clay and gravelly soils. These deep-running roots tap into mineral-rich subsoils, providing a “coolness” and structural tension that balances the natural power of the 2018 solar vintage.

The 2018 “Tradition” cuvée is a blend typically dominated by Merlot (approx. 85-90%), with the remainder composed of Cabernet Franc and a touch of Malbec. The wine underwent 12 months of maturation, partially in oak barrels and partially in stainless steel vats, to preserve its primary fruit energy while softening its muscular tannins.
