Christophe Mignon Champagne ADN de Foudre BDB Brut Nature
$115.00
If there’s a philosopher-king of the Vallée de la Marne, it’s Christophe Mignon. A fifth-generation grower who follows the lunar calendar with the devotion of an ancient mystic, Mignon produces wines that feel less like beverages and more like liquid translations of the earth.
The “ADN de Foudre” (DNA of the Oak) is a singular expression of Chardonnay. While Mignon is often hailed as a Pinot Meunier specialist, this Blanc de Blancs proves he is a savant of the entire region. This cuvée is vinified and aged in large, neutral oak foudres, a process that lends a sophisticated, expansive texture without ever masking the crystalline purity of the fruit.
On the nose, it’s all about high-toned elegance: white flowers, citrus zest, and a subtle, toasted almond richness that hints at its time in wood. The palate is a thrill—bone-dry (Brut Nature) and bracingly fresh, yet remarkably round. You’ll find layers of Mirabelle plum, quince, and a chalky mineral core that hums on the finish. It’s zippy, precise, and deeply contemplative.
