Domaine Fevre Chablis Mont de Milieu 2022

The 2022 vintage in Chablis was a bit of a gift. After the frost-bitten heartbreak of ‘21, we finally got some sun, but the Fèvres have managed to keep all that solar energy in check. Their Mont de Milieu sits on the right bank, soaking up the afternoon light, which usually translates to a broader, more muscular profile–just don’t expect a butter-bomb.

On the nose, it’s all white flowers and that classic, chalky Kimmeridgian seashell vibe that reminds you exactly where you are. The palate is where the 2022 really shines—it’s got this wonderful, fleshy weight from the ripe fruit (think Meyer lemon and crunchy pear) but it’s anchored by a salty, flinty backbone that keeps everything precise. There’s a tiny bit of old oak here—just enough to give it some shoulder—but the finish is pure, vibrating limestone.
