Duroche Gevrey-Chambertin 2018

From one of the most exciting rising stars in the Côte de Nuits, this Gevrey-Chambertin from Pierre Duroché is a textbook example of why this producer has become a darling of Burgundy lovers. While the 2018 vintage was famously warm, Duroché’s deft hand and early harvest have preserved a remarkable freshness and energy that many others missed.

This is a wine of unusual vibrancy and lift. On the nose, it leads with a hauntingly pretty bouquet of wild strawberries, crushed rose petals, and a hint of ferrous earth—that classic Gevrey “iron” that gives the wine its soul.
