Dutraive Brouilly VV 2023
$48.00
While most of Brouilly is defined by volcanic rock and granite, Jean-Louis Dutraive’s specific family parcel sits on a rare outcropping of limestone and clay. That unique terroir, combined with vines ranging from 50 to over 100 years old, gives this wine a structural stuffing and a savory depth that sets it apart from your average Bojo.
The 2023 vintage is a knockout. It captures that classic Dutraive energy—high-toned, vibrant, and effortlessly glou-glou—but with the added concentration of a warm, successful growing season.
In typical Dutraive fashion, the winemaking is minimal intervention, maximum surveillance. It’s fermented with native yeasts, undergoes semi-carbonic maceration in concrete, and is bottled with just a tiny pinch of sulfur. The result is a wine that feels alive in the glass. It’s wiry and graceful, yet the old-vine fruit provides a silken texture and a long, piquant finish that keeps you coming back for another sip.
