Ettore Germano Vino Spumante Rosato NV
$32.50
Most people associate Serralunga d’Alba with the powerhouse, long-lived Barolos of the Germano estate, but Sergio Germano has a secret weapon: bubbles. Named after his mother, the “Rosanna” is a stunning example of what happens when a Barolo specialist turns their attention to the Metodo Classico.
Crafted from 100% Nebbiolo grapes harvested early to preserve their snap and zing, this rosé spends 18 months on the lees. The result is a wine that balances the grape’s structural “backbone” with a surprisingly delicate, creamy mousse.
In the glass, it’s a pale, shimmering pink with a persistent bead. You’ll find classic Nebbiolo hallmarks—wild strawberry, rose petals, and a hint of white pepper—but they’re lifted by yeasty notes of freshly baked brioche and a saline, mineral finish that keeps you coming back for another sip.
This is an incredibly versatile bottle. It has the weight to stand up to fried appetizers (think fritto misto) and the elegance to pair with delicate seafood crudo or a creamy mushroom risotto.
