Florent Garaudet Puligny Montrachet Vieilles Vignes 2022
$100.00
If you haven’t yet familiarized yourself with Florent Garaudet, now is the time to pay attention. Based in the often-overlooked village of Monthelie, Florent is a fifth-generation grower who struck out on his own at just 23 years old. He manages a tiny, three-hectare estate with the kind of obsessive, hands-on precision we love to see. He isn’t just making good wine; he’s crafting some of the most soulful, chiseled expressions of the Côte de Beaune we’ve tasted in years.
The 2022 vintage in Burgundy was a gift—a warm, dry season that produced wines of incredible concentration and sun-kissed fruit, yet miraculously maintained the zip and tension that makes Puligny-Montrachet the gold standard for Chardonnay.
Florent’s Vieilles Vignes (Old Vines) comes from a handful of choice, lower-hillside parcels including Les Boudrières and La Rue Aux Vaches. These vines are over 45 years old, digging deep into gravelly clay-limestone to pull up that signature Puligny mineral backbone.
t’s a wine of weightless intensity. It enters with a creamy, supple texture—the hallmark of the 2022 sun—but then the acidity kicks in like a perfect skipping stone across a pond. It’s focused, vibrant, and incredibly long, leaving you with a lingering taste of citrus zest and saline minerals.
