Giovanni Almondo Roero Arneis Vigne Sparse 2022

The Almondo family—who have been farming in Roero since the 14th century—are the undisputed champions of Arneis, a grape that was nearly extinct before a few dedicated families brought it back from the brink.

The “Vigne Sparse” (literally “scattered vineyards”) is the perfect introduction to the Almondo style. Sourced from several organic parcels throughout the commune of Montà, this wine is all about purity and precision.

This isn’t your average easy-drinking white. It’s bone-dry and laser-focused, bursting with aromas of apricot, citrus rind, and white flower honey. To keep things as fresh as possible, the wine is fermented and aged entirely in stainless steel. No oak to mask that gorgeous, floral Piedmontese character.
