The nose opens with a surprising brightness—think vanilla cheesecake topped with a tart rhubarb compote—before the peat settles in like the scent of a damp, blustery harbor. On the palate, the power of the smoke is undeniable, yet it’s beautifully integrated with notes of freshly baked apple pie, salted caramel, and a peculiar, wonderful mineral edge that reminds one of slate and sea spray.
