Larmandier-Bernier Champagne Longitude BDB Extra Brut Premier Cru Champagne
$85.00
Larmandier-Bernier is basically royalty in the grower Champagne world, but they don’t rest on their laurels. While their ‘Latitude’ cuvée is all about roundness and charm, ‘Longitude’ is a different beast entirely. It’s a straight-up vertical dive into the chalky bedrock of the Côte des Blancs.
Named for the string of villages that sit along the 4th meridian—Vertus, Oger, Avize, and Cramant—this is 100% Chardonnay that feels like it was squeezed directly out of a limestone rock. The Larmandier family farms biodynamically and leans on a “perpetual reserve” (started back in 2004) to give the wine a serious sense of history and depth without ever losing that electric, high-toned energy.
This is the kind of bottle you bring to a dinner party when you want to look like you know exactly what you’re doing, or the one you pop on a Tuesday night just because you deserve something that sparkles with this much intention. It’s “site-specific” in a way that makes you feel like you’re standing right there in the chalky soils of Vertus.
