Localism Wines Cabernet Sauvignon Napa 2021
$110.00
Tucked into the southeastern corner of Coombsville where the morning fog likes to linger, it produces wines that trade sun-drenched brawn for something a bit more soulful and architectural. Ryan and Nicole Knoth at Localism are leaning into that cool-climate energy with their 2021 Cabernet.
The 2021 vintage was a bit of a dream for precision—low yields, tiny berries, and stacks of concentration. In the glass, this isn’t your typical Napa fruit bomb. Instead, it leads with high-toned blue fruit, crushed blackberries, and that unmistakable Coombsville earthiness that feels like damp stones and cedar. There’s a touch of sweet leather and dark chocolate, but the oak stays in its lane, acting as a frame rather than the main event.
What really gets us is the structure. It’s got that satin-meets-stone texture—ripe, resolved tannins that provide plenty of grip without feeling rustic. The acidity is bright and lifted, keeping everything vibrant through a long, spice-tinged finish.
