Named for one of New Zealand’s rarest birds, this wine is a vibrant, sustainably farmed expression that skips the aggressive cat pee pungency of its neighbors in favor of something much more refined and tropical.
On the nose, it’s a fragrant collision of passionfruit sorbet, lime zest, and fresh-cut lemongrass. The palate is where the 2023 vintage really shines; it’s succulent and bright, offering layers of green apple, pink grapefruit, and a touch of tomato leaf herbaceousness.
