Mongeard-Mugneret Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Aux Boudots 2015

$170.00

The Mongeard family has deep roots in Vosne-Romanée, dating back to the eighteenth century, with records of a Mongeard working as vigneron for Domaine de la Romanée-Conti in 1786.

In 1945, Jean Mongeard—just 16 years old—took over winemaking following his father’s passing. That year’s entire harvest was purchased by Baron le Roy, Marquis d’Angerville, and Henri Gouges, who advised Jean to bottle the wines himself rather than sell them in barrel. This pivotal moment set the stage for the domaine’s future.

Jean’s son, Vincent, joined the family domaine in 1975, taking charge of viticulture and vinification. He encouraged a return to traditional bottling practices, favoring unfiltered wines except in select vintages. When Jean retired in 1995, Vincent assumed full leadership.

Today, Domaine Mongeard-Mugneret spans more than 75 acres across 35 appellations. With holdings in such a diverse range of climats, the domaine produces wines of remarkable variety, each expressing the nuances of Burgundy’s most celebrated terroirs.
