San Felice Campogiovanni Brunello Di Montalcino 2015
$72.50
Campogiovanni, situated on the south-facing slopes of Montalcino, really leaned into that solar energy of 2015 to produce a bottle that’s currently firing on all cylinders.
This isn’t a shy wine. On the palate, it’s expansive and generous. It has that rich, mouth-coating texture we love, but it’s held together by a limestone-driven acidity and fine-grained tannins that keep it from feeling heavy.
While some Brunellos require a decade of patience before they even think about being friendly, the 2015 Campogiovanni is in a beautiful spot right now. It’s supple in the way only great Sangiovese can be—powerful but elegant, with a finish that lingers on notes of dark chocolate and forest floor.
