Tenuta Di Fessina A Puddara 2021
$62.50
If there is one producer currently defining the “Etna Renaissance,” it’s Tenuta Fessina. Founded by the late visionary Silvia Maestrelli—the first woman to truly make her mark on the northern slopes of the volcano—Fessina captures the raw, jagged elegance of Sicily like no one else. Near the village of Rovittello, the soils here are a complex patchwork of ash, sand, and pumice–essentially high definition minerality.
The 2021 A’Puddara—named for the “Pleiades” constellation that guided ancient fishermen home–comes from 70-year-old Carricante vines perched at a dizzying 900 meters on the southern slopes of the volcano. It’s got that signature Etna acidity—crisp, electric, and mouthwatering—balanced by a surprisingly creamy mid-palate from its time in large French oak barrels.
If you’re a fan of high-altitude Chablis or mineral-driven Chenin Blanc, this is a bottle you absolutely need in your cellar. It’s a stunning, focused expression of one of Italy’s most exciting terroirs.
