Terre Bianche Pigato 2023
$32.00
Hailing from the steep, terraced hills of Liguria, this is a white wine with a true sense of place. The name “Pigato” comes from the local dialect pigau, referring to the freckle-like spots that appear on the grapes as they ripen under the Italian sun.
On the nose, it’s a fragrant bouquet of white peach, citrus zest, and wildflowers, but what really sets it apart is that signature Ligurian streak of Mediterranean herbs—think wild sage and rosemary—alongside a bracing saline minerality.
On the palate, it’s crisp yet surprisingly textured. It offers a lovely weight that is perfectly balanced by high-toned acidity and a classic, slightly bitter almond finish that keeps you coming back.
