Val de Caire Coteaux d’Aix-en-Provence Rose 2023
$18.00
Established by Guillaume Reynier in 2003, this estate sits at a higher elevation than many of its neighbors, and that altitude translates directly into the bottle. It’s a classic blend of Grenache, Syrah, and Cinsault, but it’s the organic farming and meticulous attention to terroir—a mix of clay and limestone—that really makes this one sing.
On the nose, you’re met with a vibrant bouquet of wild strawberries, white peach, and a distinct touch of Mediterranean scrub (that “garrigue” we love so much). The palate is bone-dry and remarkably crisp, offering a rush of citrus and stone fruit backed by a stony, saline minerality that keeps the whole experience grounded and endlessly refreshing.
