Vecchio Magazzino Doganale Jefferson Amaro 700ml

The story behind this bottle sounds like folklore, but founder Ivano Trombino swears by the family papers that inspired it. In the late 19th century, an American ship carrying illegal tobacco ran aground off the Calabrian coast. The ship’s captain, Jefferson, and his surviving crew were taken in by a local family led by Giocondo Trombino (a perfume maker by trade). Captain Jefferson fell in love with the wild, sun-baked landscape and began gathering local herbs, roots, and citrus alongside Giocondo to distill homemade liqueurs.
Generations later, Ivano Trombino discovered these hand-scribbled recipes tucked away in his grandfather’s house. Disillusioned by modern mass-market amaros full of artificial extracts and caramel color, Ivano launched Vecchio Magazzino Doganale in 2016 to resurrect these natural formulas.
