Weingut Ingrid Groiss Gemischter Satz Braitenpuechtorff 2022
$19.99
Ingrid Groiss is quickly becoming one of our favorite names in the Weinviertel, and this 2022 Gemischter Satz proves exactly why. Growing up in her family’s vineyards, Ingrid eventually took the reins with a clear vision: organic farming, minimal intervention, and a deep respect for the traditional field blends of her grandmother’s era.
This isn’t your standard single-varietal bottle. This is a field blend in the truest sense—a snapshot of a single vineyard where roughly 15 different grape varieties (including Chardonnay, Müller-Thurgau, and Welschriesling) grow side-by-side, are harvested at the same time, and ferment together in stainless steel. The result is a wine of incredible complexity and drinkability that one grape alone simply couldn’t achieve.
In the glass, it’s remarkably fresh and energetic. You’ll find a symphony of crisp green apple, Bosc pear, and zesty citrus, all underpinned by a distinct mineral backbone and a hint of white blossoms. It’s medium-bodied with a silken texture from time spent on the lees, yet it maintains a bright, snapping acidity that keeps you coming back for another sip.
Whether you’re sitting down to a spicy Thai curry, a classic schnitzel, or just looking for a refreshing white to enjoy on the patio, this is a versatile, soulful liter-class contender (though it comes in a standard 750ml) that belongs in your regular rotation.
