Alain Graillot (and now his son Maxime) has always had a knack for capturing the “crunch” of Syrah. In 2019, that signature vibrancy is dialed up. While the Crozes is often defined by its alluvial gravel, the Saint-Joseph comes from a mere hectare of vines perched on steep, decomposed granite. That granite terroir translates into a wine with a more vertical, chiseled profile—a sleeker, more mineral-driven sibling to the estate’s flagship bottlings.

The 2019 is a classic Graillot performance: 100% whole-cluster fermentation provides that unmistakable aromatic lift of cracked black pepper, violets, and smoked meats.
