True to the Lamarche style, the color is notably pale—a shimmering, translucent ruby that hints at the delicate touch in the cellar. On the nose, it is a quintessential Vosne-Romanée “flower bomb,” exploding with violets and rose petals, interwoven with exotic notes of hoisin, star anise, and sandalwood. It’s a strikingly spicy bouquet that rewards patient swirling.

Les Suchots sits in a “hollow” between the Grand Crus of Romanée-Saint-Vivant and Echézeaux. In Nicole’s hands, this 2018 captures that Grand Cru energy—offering a sizzling drive and more dynamic tension than its neighbors.
