Enrico Serafino Gavi 2024
$23.00
Enrico Serafino has been doing the work in Piedmont since the late 1800s, but their 2024 “Grifo del Quartaro” feels remarkably current—a bright, electric snapshot of the Cortese grape that refuses to be boring.
The 2024 vintage was a rainy one, but it resulted in a wine with serious cut and a beautiful, lean energy. Think crunchy green apple, a squeeze of lime, and that classic, slightly bitter almond skin finish that makes Gavi so addictive. There’s a chalky, mineral backbone here that reminds us of the white soils of the Gavi municipality, keeping everything focused and incredibly fresh.
It’s a drink now, drink often kind of white. It doesn’t need a formal occasion or a decanter—just a chill, a couple of glasses, and maybe a tin of sardines. This is honest, site-specific Piedmontese wine that punches way above its price point.
