Graci Etna Rosso 2022

The 2022 Graci Etna Rosso is a textbook example of why we look to the northern slopes of Mount Etna for some of the most compelling, terroir-driven reds in our shop. Alberto Graci continues to define the contemporary standard for the region, focusing on elegance and transparency rather than power.

This bottling is essentially a love letter to Nerello Mascalese. Sourced from high-altitude vineyards in the contrade of Arcurìa, Feudo di Mezzo, and Muganazzi, the fruit is grown in the classic volcanic sands that give these wines their distinct, iron-fist-in-a-velvet-glove personality.

The tannins are fine-grained and architectural, providing just enough grip to frame the bright, crunchy red fruit. There’s a persistent saltiness here that keeps you coming back for another sip, a hallmark of Graci’s hands-off approach in the cellar (using only concrete tanks and large neutral wood).
