San Felice Chianti Classico 2021

San Felice has been a cornerstone of the Castelnuovo Berardenga sub-zone for decades, and their 2021 Chianti Classico demonstrates why this estate remains a perennial favorite of ours.

A long, steady growing season yielded wines with remarkable structural integrity and a crunchy acidity that makes them dangerously drinkable. A blend of 80% Sangiovese with Colorino and Pugnitello, an internationally-styled Chianti this is not. 

San Felice managed to capture the warmth of the Berardenga sun without losing the snap. It’s a terroir wine through and through, reflecting the rocky galestro soils of the region. It’s sophisticated enough for a formal dinner but has enough soul for a Tuesday night pizza.
