Tor Napa Chardonnay Cuvee Susan Hyde Vineyard 2022

If you know the legendary Hyde Vineyard in Carneros, you know it’s the “Grand Cru” of the region. This 2022 bottling from TOR is a love letter to that site—specifically to the old-vine blocks that produce some of the most electric Chardonnay in California.

Named after Susan Hyde, this cuvée is a rigorous barrel selection designed to showcase the pinnacle of the vintage. There’s no butter here, just high-definition, high-tension winemaking. On the nose, it’s an explosion of white flowers and lemon curd with incredible density that feels weightless at the same time.

While the 2022 vintage faced some heat, the Hyde Vineyard’s proximity to the San Pablo Bay provided the cooling breezes necessary to maintain that “razor’s edge” balance.
