The 2023 season was a marathon, not a sprint. Record-breaking winter rains gave the vines a deep drink, followed by a long, cool summer that allowed the fruit to develop incredible complexity without losing its signature zip. The result is a wine that feels both substantial and light on its feet.

Tasting Notes

The Nose: An immediate hit of bright red cherry and wild raspberry, followed by more soulful notes of sassafras, dried sagebrush, and a hint of worn leather. It’s aromatic, floral, and deeply inviting.

The Palate: This is where the 10 months in French oak (50% new) really shows its polish. You get a rich, supple texture that carries flavors of blackberry, blood orange, and a touch of black licorice.

The Finish: Long, creamy, and surprisingly structured for an appellation-level wine. It closes with a playful snap of cherry candy and cinnamon spice, kept fresh by that famous Monterey acidity.
